Zambrero was born down under in Australia, founded by entrepreneur Dr. Sam Prince.
From humble beginnings, fast forward more than a decade and Zambrero now has over 200 restaurants.
Australia’s largest Mexican franchise, Zambrero has expanded across the globe to Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
As a fresh-faced, ambitious 21-year-old medical student, entrepreneur Dr. Sam Prince recognised that Australia lacked a choice for healthy, fresh Mexican cuisine.
In 2005, whilst still studying, he decided to shake things up a bit by opening the first Zambrero in his hometown of Canberra.
But Sam’s extraordinary story does not stop there. With parents raised in rural Sri Lanka, Sam was always motivated, through his parents' life experience, to start a business that would help those less fortunate than himself.
Sam wanted to serve good food that did good. Which led him to create an initiative that would in turn deliver millions of meals to people in need the world over and make an impact on the state of world hunger. He called it Plate 4 Plate.
With our Plate 4 Plate initiative you can fill your karma and your belly in one stop.
Every burrito or bowl you buy means a meal donated to someone in need.
With our partner Rise Against Hunger our goal is to donate 1 billion meals by 2025. It's a win-win.
The more Zambrero you eat, the more we help the hungry of the world, and the better we all feel.
